I was ordained a Presbyterian minister in Australia.
At one of my churches I had a young elder from Scotland who frequently wore his kilt to Church.
He told me that some years ago when he was living in Scotland, he and a friend went walking in the early morning in the French countryside.
They hailed a farmer some distance away who, somewhat confused called back, "Bonjour Monsieur et...er..Madam!"
